San Mateo County Mentoring Coalition is made up of 25 organizations throughout San Mateo County that either offer mentoring
services or refer youth to mentoring programs. We are committed to raising awareness of mentoring as an effective way to
serve youth-in-need in our communities and to providing training and support to organizations and individuals involved with
mentoring. Coalition members attend quarterly trainings for no cost and receive information about special recruitment and
marketing opportunities. Solano Mentor Collaborative The Solano
Mentor Collaborative serves 17 North Bay mentoring agencies: Teen Connect, Day Reporting Center, Parent Movement, Ladies In
Training & Emerging Gentlemen, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Bay, Ministries of Praise, Mentoring Life Skills
Mission, Continental Omega Boys and Girls Club, Children's Nuturing Project, Tutors for Kids, Pilipino Youth Coalition, Yo
Ball Sports - Broader Horizons, Shining Stars Mentoring, The Vallejo Faith Organization (VFO), Back Me Mentoring, Peace Jam
and Touro Community Catalyst Club. Through these partnerships, SMC is able to support mentors and mentees in either traditional
one-to-one, group, or academic, career, peer, or recreational mentoring programs by providing Mentor Certification services,
mentee referrals, ongoing mentor trainings, and mentoring events/mixers. The most valuable service is getting the mentoring
agencies to connect at one table at our Monthly Collaborative meetings (2nd Monday 2 - 4 pm). Here the agencies are able to
join forces to bring more support to each other promoting a community mentoring movement. Contact: Florence Parks or 707-648-5348 at Fighting Back Partnership
